Sarah Lawrence College is a highly selective liberal arts college located just north of Manhattan in Westchester County, NY.  The Academic Computing department is currently seeking a Help Desk Lab / Mac Support Specialist.

 

Responsibilities include:

Troubleshooting - Hardware and Software troubleshooting of Mac OS and Apple   Hardware for Faculty, Staff and Students

 

Provide support for students in the Lab when lab monitors are not available to help.

 

Create documentation for commonly asked questions, and advanced procedures.

 

Repair /Replace Lab computers when needed; including imaging.  

 

Test software, hardware and practices for new operating systems when they are released, making changes as required.

 

Maintain and Operate Library and HVAC DeployStudio Servers, upgrading and migrating when required.

 

Maintain and Operate Academic and Admin OpenDirectory Servers, upgrading and migrating when required.

 

Mac OS X Server Administration - Set up and Troubleshooting of Mac OS X Open directory servers.

 

Experienced in Shell Script editing and Creation - creating and modifying Unix scripts as needed to automate lab management LaunchD and Bash scripts. 

 

Content Creation, creating workstation backgrounds, departmental branding, lab signage, etc. 

 

Helping users work in Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator and Lightroom, Final Cut Pro, Handbrake, iMovie, and other visual editing applications as necessary.

 

Photographic and large scale printers -- Maintenance and troubleshooting.

 

Create OSX images for deployment onto faculty desktops and laptops.

 

Coordinate and migrate faculty information to new machines.

 

Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualificatons:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent, must have significant experience working in the area of OSX Support

 

Salary: Mid-40’s
