DANCE MOVEMENT THERAPY FIELDWORK COORDINATOR

 

Sarah Lawrence College, located in Southern Westchester County, NY is a coeducational college that is nationally renowned for its rigorous academic and creative standards and its commitment to students’ individual development. 

 

We are currently seeking candidates for the position of Fieldwork Coordinator for the Master's in Dance Therapy program.   This is an administrative position that supports the Program Director in the administration of internships & fieldwork, curriculum development, library & research resource planning, admissions & recruiting and program operations. 

 

The incumbent will be responsible for:

 

Oversight of graduate fieldwork sites, including developing fieldwork sites, managing the fieldwork schedule and assignments, conducting site visits and maintaining the relationships between the institution/supervisor and the college (per the ADTA requirement for accreditation);

Assisting in the development of curriculum, and serves as a key liaison to the field of DMT;

Overseeing the procurement of library and research materials;

Overseeing the registration process for DMT students;

Assisting in recruitment & admission of students to the DMT program.

 

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Dance/Movement Therapy or related field , preferred.

Must be independent, entrepreneurial and ability to collaboratively work across a diverse organization

Knowledge of dance, movement/therapy and counseling

Knowledge of and experience working with graduate students

Working knowledge of ADTA certification requirements

Good organizational skills

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Knowledge of database creation and management

Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills

Ability to function as a team member

A high level of professional maturity, self motivation, and productivity
