Position Summary:

The Department of Communication at Monmouth University is seeking an outstanding radio/audio professional for a full-time Specialist Professor position in its Radio and Television cluster. This anticipated opening is for the 2018-2019 academic year and is a one-year initial appointment subject to subsequent multi-year reappointments without limit.

We are interested in a candidate who can teach introductory level Radio Production classes, Radio Copy Writing, Talk Radio and has experience in voice-over work for potential new classes in this area. In addition, the candidate would be expected to teach core Communication classes such as Media Literacy, Introduction to Mass Communication and Public Speaking.

The Department of Communication is a dynamic department that serves 400 undergraduate majors in three clusters Radio/Television, Journalism/Public Relations, and Communication Studies and 40 graduate students in its Master's program in Corporate and Public Communication. The department is home to WMCX-FM, a 1,000-watt radio station with a solid local and web audience, and strong student interest, broadcasting both format and specialty shows as well as news, talk and live sports programming.
