Position Summary:

Monmouth University is seeking applications for a Service Response Team Member in the Facilities Management department.

The candidate would be expected to: provide a wide variety of support services for University programs and operations; perform the transport, set-up and breakdown of furniture and materials for all University special events; remove trash and recyclables; hang pictures, bulletin boards, etc.; perform general clean-up of campus; move and deliver equipment, furniture, supplies, etc.; hang flags, banners, etc.; assist Grounds Shop as needed with plowing, planting, sweeping, raking, mowing, etc.; respond to unscheduled and emergency service requests; measure, layout and paint lines and designs on athletic fields, parking lots and roadways; assist Custodial Department as needed with cleaning interiors and exteriors of buildings; keep supervisor informed about progress and problems on a daily or as needed basis; and other duties as assigned.

Required Degree, License or Certifications:
Valid Automobile Driver's License in your state of principal residence

Required Skills or Software:
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

Must have a combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge and skills to accomplish the normal job duties.

Must possess and apply a high degree of attention for detail and care to prevent injury to self and others. Must be able to read and write in English and understand oral and written instructions, including MSDS directions, chemical product labels, equipment manuals, work orders and be able to carry out work orders as required.

Must be able to calculate mathematically. Must be able to lift and move heavy objects regularly. Must be able to work in multi-story buildings without elevators, to climb ladders and work at heights regularly.

Must be able to operate vehicles equipped with standard transmissions. Must be willing and able to work overtime as required and to respond to emergency calls after working hours.

Must have excellent attendance and work record and perform all work in strict accordance with accepted trade practices, code requirements and all safety and good housekeeping requirements.

Must be extremely reliable and capable of working independently and without full-time supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:
A high school diploma (or equivalent).
