Position Summary:

The Department of Criminal Justice at Monmouth University invites applications for a tenure track Associate Professor and Graduate Program Director position to begin August 2017.

Teaching responsibilities will be in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. Teaching load is 9 credits per semester for graduate faculty. Program Directors are compensated with a stipend each semester and a one three-credit course reduction per academic year. Summer responsibilities are expected and a summer stipend is provided.

Applicants should have a strong record of scholarship and publication making them suitable for appointment at the rank of associate professor. Area of research specialization is open.

Applicants must have a record of publication in peer-reviewed criminal justice journals and evidence of a strong research agenda. The successful candidate will be expected to perform departmental service including academic advising of graduate students, outreach to prospective graduate students by attending recruitment events, and promoting and supervising student research.

PhD in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a related field. J.D. is not sufficient for this position.

Work experience in a graduate program, including the supervision of graduate student research projects.

A record of publication in peer-reviewed journals and strong research agenda.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching research methods or statistics at the graduate level.
