Assistant / Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship


Celebrating its 12th year of entrepreneurial programming, Rowan University invites applications for an tenure track professor of entrepreneurship at the assistant or associate level (without tenure) to join a growing and interdisciplinary entrepreneurship team. The AACSB-accredited Rohrer College of Business (RCB) has approximately 2,400 undergraduate students and 145 masters level students and is experiencing a period of unprecedented programmatic and enrollment growth. Thus, we seek an energetic and innovative colleague who is committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service. This position will have dedicated service time to engage in and support programming offered through the Rowan Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (RCIE).

The successful candidate will have:
  • A Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship or a related field, completed by September 1, 2019
  • Proven excellence as a teacher and demonstrated potential for excellence as a researcher
  • The ability to teach an array of entrepreneurship-specific coursework
  • A reputation of being a collegial colleague and collaborative team member

One or more of the following are a plus:
  • First-hand experience in launching a startup
  • Brings a unique expertise that is complementary to the entrepreneurship program s goal to be a world leader in entrepreneurship education
  • Experience teaching a diverse array of entrepreneurship specific courses (intro, new venture finance, legal aspects of entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, etc.)
  • Experience mentoring entrepreneurship student groups (CEO, ENACTUS) or engaging in leadership of regional and/or national entrepreneurship organizations (USASBE, GCEC, ICSB, ECSB, etc.)

Entrepreneurship at Rowan

The Rowan Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (RCIE) serves as an entrepreneurial catalyst to the entire Rowan community. RCIE houses StartupRU (Rowan s Entrepreneurship Across the Campus initiative), Faculty Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, new venture accelerator, entrepreneurship distinguished speaker series, and a plethora of other programs and resources to support Rowan students, faculty, and staff. The RCIE faculty consists of Dr. Eric Liguori (Rohrer Chair of Entrepreneurship and RCIE Executive Director), Dr. Susana Santos (Assistant Professor, RCB), Dr. Cheryl Bodnar (Assistant Professor, Experiential Engineering Education), Dr. Mike Dominik (Lecturer, RCB), and a 2018-2019 Visiting Professor of Entrepreneurship. In the last three years our entrepreneurship faculty have published in elite journals including Journal of Management, Small Business Economics, and Journal of Small Business Management, to name only a few.
