The University of Nebraska-Lincoln seeks applications and nominations of highly qualified individuals for the position of Dean of the College of Business.

 

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln, chartered in 1869, is the state’s flagship and only land-grant university, and continues to grow in size and prominence. Nebraska is a member of the Big Ten conference and Big Ten Academic Alliance and is classified by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education as an RU/VH institution. Nebraska is a research-extensive institution with an extraordinary focus on undergraduate education.

 

The College of Business is a founding member of and accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. The College’s enrollment and faculty and staff have significantly increased since 2010. Signature programs such as a Business Honors Academy and the world’s largest strengths lab in the Clifton Strengths Institute were created. The College opened the new 240,000-square-foot Howard L. Hawks Hall in August 2017. The privately-funded $84 million building features interactive learning in state-of-the-art classrooms, one-stop student support services and cutting-edge technology.

 

The Dean reports directly to the Executive Vice Chancellor and Chief Academic Officer and will join a very collaborative and supportive group of colleagues on the Council of Academic Deans. The Dean will have responsibility for the strategic, programmatic, financial, fundraising, and management operations that support the mission of the College of Business and its role within the University.

 

Candidates should have an outstanding academic record and a significant record of success as an administrator; an abiding commitment to excellence in undergraduate, graduate and professional education, as well as research; the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a broad range of constituencies both across the university with external audiences; and the skill to develop a purposeful and compelling strategy that will distinguish the College of Business as a relevant and valuable regional, national and international resource. Candidates must show a commitment to and experience in supporting and cultivating an accomplished and diverse faculty. The successful candidate must have and continue to demonstrate the highest level of integrity. Preferred candidates will have led sophisticated and effective development and fundraising activities. Candidates must hold an earned doctorate, with scholarly or research accomplishments commensurate with the rank of full professor with tenure.
