Temporary Certified Lifeguard (Part-time, Summer Position)



Part-Time, seasonal, life guarding position(s) available at the historic indoor pool at Reynolda House Museum of American Art.

Must be dependable, alert and able to interact with students in grades K-8 and the museum's staff in a positive and professional manner. The highest priority is to ensure the safety of the students and pool area at all times. Additionally, must be willing to adapt to practices for working within a historic site, including following basic museum rules and the internal procedures for dealing with an emergency situation.

Positions will provide lifeguard coverage during the five weeks of our Summer Adventures camps (June 26, 2017 - August 6, 2017) and one Sunday afternoon workshop (August 6th). Summer camp pool hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 1.5-3.5 hour shifts; days/shift times vary slightly each week. The August 6th Sunday afternoon shift is 2:00-4:30. We are willing to hire multiple lifeguards if necessary to cover the available shifts. Please indicate your availability on the application.

Required Skills: Valid American Red Cross certification in life guarding/first aid and CPR/AED for professional rescuers.

Required Experience: Must be at least 16 years old. At least one year of life guarding experience preferred.
