TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT ANALYST - JOURNEY

Job Description: The IT Operations department within Academic Library Services (ALS) of East Carolina University is searching for a Technology Support Analyst. The primary responsibilities for the person in this position will be management of all incoming general technical support requests and overseeing the library's IT Help Desk queue. Duties include providing hardware and software troubleshooting and support for patrons of the library, including students, faculty, and internal library staff. This person will be responsible for responding to all IT requests in a professional and timely manner by either resolving the issue, or triaging to other IT personnel with appropriate documentation.

As part of the IT Operations team, the person in this position will provide hardware and software support for the library's technology systems, including equipment available for checkout. Duties include software imaging using Symantec Ghost Solution Suite, limited hardware repairs, contacting vendors for warranty repairs, and providing general support for various platforms including Mac, PC, and mobile devices. This person is also responsible for managing the library's technology equipment inventory, and managing technology surplus items.
This person will also provide a limited amount of technology training to ALS employees, which may include brief workshops and personalized sessions.


Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Technology Integration, Networking Technology, or related area and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the position's role; or Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year experience in the information technology field related to the position's role; or Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, math or engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Journey level requires an additional one year of experience.

This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Journey level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.

Salary Grade Equivalent: 72 (for reduction-in-force priority purposes only)
