TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT ANALYST - JOURNEY

Job Description: The Classroom Technologies team of Information Technology and Computing Services (ITCS) Academic Technologies seeks a highly motivated, energetic individual to work as a Technology Support Analyst. This position will provide Tier 1 and 2 (intermediate) support for Audio Visual (AV) technology used in general classrooms, teaching labs, conference rooms, and other instructional spaces. Typical systems include control systems, matrix switchers, audio amplifiers, audio mixers, LCD or DLP projectors, plasma/ LCD monitors, interactive touch displays, SMART boards, computer workstation, streaming media delivery systems, SIP video conferencing systems. This includes support calls, diagnostic testing, evaluation and repair of equipment, inventory control, preventative maintenance, and other maintenance such as lamp replacement.

This position will assist and provide support to AV operational projects which may include set up and installation of new equipment such as microphones, amplifiers, lecture capture devices, loud speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, wire, terminating wires and cable in classrooms across campus. This position will participate in acceptance testing and commissioning of new installations, maintaining standards related to wiring, equipment rack elevation, terminations, and signal paths. The position will adhere to state building codes as it relates to audio visual integration.

This position will assist with inventory control and maintaining equipment stored in all Classroom Technologies Team controlled areas. This position will ensure the receiving, warehousing, and distribution of all hardware that the Classroom Technologies Team purchases. This position will assist with layout of all storage spaces and ensure efficient space utilization. This position will assist in keeping equipment used for maintenance and operation in stock and ensure that there is adequate equipment available in the event of equipment failure in the classrooms. This position will maintain environmental health and safety standards.

This position will participate in the daily supervision of class technology students including ensuring students adhere to the schedule for east campus preventative maintenance, general maintenance, phone support responses, service desk tickets, and global classroom support. This includes insuring student support is coordinated to provide support for all active courses within the global classroom spaces.

This position will stay abreast of current classroom technology and cooperate with other members of the Classroom Technologies Team to develop training and reference materials for hardware and software used for instruction in classrooms. This includes print & electronic reference materials, group, and one-on-one training.

This position may require non-business hour support including evening and weekends, depending on the needs of the university.


Minimum Qualifications: Associate's degree in Computer Information Technology, Computer Technology Integration, Networking Technology, or related area and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the position's role; or Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year experience in the information technology field related to the position's role; or Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, math or engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Journey level requires an additional one year of experience

If candidates are not identified at the Journey level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.
Salary Grade Equivalent: 72 (for reduction-in-force priority purposes only)
