TEACHING ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/TEACHING PROFESSOR

Job Description: The Department of Educational Leadership in ECU's College of Education is seeking to fill a twelve-month, full-time (100%) fixed-term faculty position. This individual would be responsible for teaching 6sch of graduate courses each fall and spring and perform the following duties as the department advisor.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

--Counseling and advising current and potential students in, as well as recruitment for, the programs of:
*Master of School Administration
*North Carolina Principal Fellows Program
*Principal add on license program
*Curriculum and Supervision add on license program
*Educational Specialist degree
*Educational Doctorate
*Certificate Program

--Collaborating with superintendents (school districts) to establish, implement, review, and assess formal, written agreements between the department and school districts
--Conducting face-to-face recruitment sessions for potential students for each of the programs
--Conducting webinar recruitment sessions for potential students for the program areas
--Designing programs of study for cohorts in the program areas
--Developing recruitment materials for face-to-face and webinar sessions
--Responding to inquiries by potential students seeking program and license information
--Facilitating candidate interviews and writing samples for faculty review as part of the admission process
--Advising potential students on materials to submit as part of the admission process
--Coordinating with the ECU Graduate School to ensure timely and complete submission and review of candidate materials
--Collaborating with department chair and academic program coordinators on enrollment capacity for each of the program areas
--Communicating with faculty regularly regarding administrative needs of the region
--Facilitating establishment of a Master of School Administration (MSA) advisory committee (as described by HB 526)
--Establishing an annual needs assessment for the region regarding district leadership needs
--Ensuring department website has current program and cohort information
--Meeting with northeast and southeast regional superintendent associations to discuss leadership development and leadership needs


Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree with significant directly relevant knowledge and experience will be considered. Ability to work independently and to professionally represent the university within the region is necessary. Qualifying degrees must be conferred and received from appropriately accredited institutions.
