Job Description: The Learning Skills Specialist works collaboratively with faculty/administration to create a supportive academic environment for professional growth and competency development of the resident physician and fellows at Vidant Medical Center.

The Learning Skills Specialist will develop strategies and programs to enhance resident physicians' and fellows' learning to meet the academic goals and experiences required of them at Vidant Medical Center.

This position will also respond to medical students at the Brody School of Medicine, experiencing academic difficulties and will develop academic interventions designed to improve their academic performance.

Additionally, this position will provide writing assistance for grants, manuscript writing for publications or presentations, CVs and personal statements.


Minimum Qualifications: -Masters Degree in Educational Psychology, Counseling, Learning Disabilities/Special Education, Student Affairs/Higher Education with knowledge of psychological and educational assessment techniques.

Two years of experience working in a post-secondary education setting.
