HUMAN RESOURCES CONSULTANT-ADVANCED

Job Description: This position reports to the Senior HR Consultant within Classification and Compensation. The Classification and Compensation section provides a comprehensive program of services, serving an advisory role to University management, department heads, and supervisors through a fair and equitable application of state and federal policies and procedures. The Classification and Compensation section is responsible for ensuring campus-wide equity through the proper classification of all SHRA, CSS and Non-Faculty EHRA positions, with full consideration of salary administration issues. Consistent with the service mission of the University, we provide consultation on organization and position design, compensation analysis, salary administration, consultation of departmental pay philosophies and strategies. This position has significant communication responsibilities in serving as the liaison between East Carolina University and its divisions and the University of North Carolina-General Administration in the salary approval process.


Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two years of progressively responsible professional human resources management experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.


Special Instructions to Applicants: This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Advanced level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.

Salary Grade Equivalent: 74 (for reduction-in-force priority purposes only)
