SR. ASSOCIATE AD / EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR PIRATE CLUB

Job Description: Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the individual serving in this position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

- Manage the strategic planning, organization and oversight of the ECU Educational Foundation (Pirate Club) to include the annual fund, major gifts, capital campaigns, Student Pirate Club, customer service, community relations, gift processing management, area operations and procedures, fiscal management, budget planning, Pirate Club events and other Pirate Club and athletics related services and functions as directed.

- Provide leadership, administrative support, and supervision to all personnel assigned to the Pirate Club.

- Liaison with ECU Educational Foundation Executive Committee to include, but not limited to, operating agreement negotiations and execution, organization by-laws, meeting scheduling, daily area administrative and communication needs and daily on-going working relationship with executive committee officers and members.

- Serve as a member of the Athletics Executive Leadership Team providing input and leadership to department wide activities and initiatives while ensuring an integrated approach to overall athletics operations and communications in line with the department's Strategic Plan.

- Provide oversight, consultation and support to and for coaches of assigned athletic team(s) as directed by the Director of Athletics and in accordance with the functions and responsibilities of a Sport Program Administrator.

- Liaison with University Advancement to include, but not limited to, relationship building, on-going communications and collaborative initiatives.

- Perform duties as a trustworthy steward of all resources, the reputation of East Carolina University, and its mission of service.

- Build quality relationships; work collaboratively and professionally with Athletics, Pirate Club and University staff, students and all constituencies and stakeholders.


Minimum Qualifications: The position requires a bachelor's degree plus a minimum of six years of experience in intercollegiate athletics fundraising or equivalent experience. The candidate must possess strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and presentation skills. The candidate must also have experience working with annual fund solicitations preferably through a volunteer network and experience working with priority systems in the assignment of season tickets and other donor benefits. The candidate must have familiarity with planned giving best practices and experience with the implementation of capital campaigns. The candidate must have hands-on experience in managing development personnel. Extensive travel is required.

Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions and conferred by the time of hire.
