CASE MANAGER

Job Description: The Case Manager assists in the monitoring and enforcing the policies and procedures of the University related to sexual misconduct and harassment as well as the student conduct system. This position responds to, coordinates responses and outreach efforts, provides training, and prepares reports. The objective of the case manager position is to facilitate the flow of information between the Title IX team and the student, and facilitate a positive change related to the reported concern. In addition, the Case Manager will assist and monitor students who are in distress or crisis situations, and who have come to the attention of the SMRT Committee. The Case Manager will report to the Lead Title IX Investigator.


Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree. Basic knowledge of ethical and legal parameters in higher education, especially as they pertain to conduct and students. Ability to incorporate a trauma-informed approach to dealing with persons in sexual misconduct cases. Strong organizational and administrative skills. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Team building skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to set own priorities to coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating and time-sensitive deadlines. Ability to build positive and effective relationships across the campus and community. Strong commitment to diversity. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to manage multiple tasks. Knowledge of legal issues in higher education. Ability to provide exemplary customer service. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive cases. Experience interacting with the public, attorneys, parents, students, staff, and faculty. Also, demonstrated skills of leadership, communication, a well-developed sense of responsibility, sensitivity to individual differences. Knowledge of Title IX, VAWA/Campus SaVE Act, and federal, state, and local laws and requirements, especially as related to accommodations and interim measures.
