BUSINESS & TECH APP ANALYST- ADVANCED

Job Description: This Business Tech Application Analyst-Advanced position will work under the technical direction of the Banner HR/Payroll technical team lead and will report to the IT Manager of Administrative Systems Development and Support. This position performs the most complex analytical activities associated with enterprise-wide projects, requiring specialized knowledge and skills. Work will involve design, analysis, and programming associated with the development, enhancement, and maintenance of highly complex Oracle based systems. Using PL/SQL and emerging technologies, this position will support the administrative software needs of the University's Human Resource and Payroll offices. This position may also be asked to assist with integration and support of third party products that are purchased to interface with and compliment the Ellucian Banner ERP System.
This position must work closely with end-users to perform analysis and high level planning and troubleshooting associated with regularly scheduled Banner maintenance and upgrades, ensuring the continued success, reliability, and availability for the ECU Production environment. The position requires the ability to work with large sophisticated applications that interact together. This position must also investigate and become an expert in emerging technologies with the intent of implementation as well as to provide training to other team members, and be a source for the developed standards pertaining to these technologies.

While uncommon, this position may require non-business hour support including evenings and weekends, depending on the needs of the University.


Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, math, or Engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution, and twos year of experience in business application consulting or development; or Bachelor's degree and some computer coursework from an appropriately accredited institution and three year of experience in business application consulting or development; or Associate's degree in Computer Programming and three years of experience in application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Special Instructions to Applicants: This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Advanced level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.
Salary Grade Equivalent: 78 (for reduction-in-force priority purposes only)
