ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF THE LEDONIA WRIGHT CULTURAL CENTER

Job Description: Working as part of the Intercultural Affairs team, the Associate Director coordinates social justice and student success programming; oversees internal and external marketing; and leads all evaluation efforts for the LWCC. Additionally, the Associate Director assists the Intercultural Affairs Director with budgeting and fundraising, and strategic planning. He/she will serve on University and Student Affairs committees such as Student Success, Alternative Break Experiences, and Co-curricular to foster collaboration and cross-cultural sensitivity in the planning and implementation of campus-wide and division level initiatives. This position reports to the Director of the Intercultural Affairs, oversees the Center, and directly supervises the Assistant Director and the Student Success graduate assistant. This is a professional position with responsibilities having a direct impact on the quality of students' educational experiences and interaction with their peers, as well as the campus community at large. Additionally, this position requires a strong knowledge of university budgetary practices, risk management, problem solving skills, and contract negotiation.


Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree required in college student personnel administration, higher education or related field of study.
Five years of successful experience including work as a graduate assistant at the collegiate level in the area of cultural program coordination, student organizations, multicultural affairs or advisement of first-generation/traditionally under-represented students.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and public relations skills, including computer competencies.
Ability to foster and develop working relationships and a sense of community with a broad range of students and staff in a culturally diverse environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of student affairs philosophy and a capacity to articulate and implement student development theory.
