ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF GREEK LIFE

Job Description: The Assistant Director of Greek Life will
-Advise national sororities and fraternities in the area of risk management, relationships with individual national headquarters, local alumni chapters, judicial board processes and other activities with Greek life on and off campus including working with housed chapters.
-Serve as the advisors to the intake and recruitment process for all Greek chapters supported by the department.
-Work with the Director of Greek Life to advise and advocate for Greek lettered fraternities and sororities (over 3,200). These interactions are meant to develop the student socially and academically by instilling in them a level of personal responsibility that will aid them both inside and outside of the classroom.
-The Assistant Director of Greek Life is on call at various times in order to respond to emergency situations with Greek Life. These include matters involving student welfare and safety concerns. The immediate response of staff to these situations helps to prevent, or at least minimize, behavior and/or conditions that could cause serious harm to our students physically, or legally.
-Works with the Director of Greek Life to provide direction and guidance in program development and program assessment for campus programming efforts. The allocation of resources and efforts should revolve around the development of students socially and academically to enhance the overall academic experience of the student both inside and outside of the classroom.
-Assist with facilitating and instructing faculty and alumni advisors for Greek-Lettered organizations/other groups on advising, mentoring, and student development theories.
-Facilitate and instruct student leaders on running meetings, developing constitutions, group dynamics, time management, and decision-making. -Represents The Department of Greek Life on various university committees.
-Support and advise National Pan-Hellenic Council, College Panhellenic, Interfraternity Council, and Multicultural Greek Council meetings as needed to offer guidance to students on matters of personal and organizational development.
-Develop research data analysis on growing and developing trends in Greek Life and programmatic schemes.
-Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications: A Master's degree in Student Personnel, Counseling, Higher Education Administration, or a related behavioral science is required. Candidates must possess understanding of all Greek Life umbrellas, student development theory, and must have the ability to apply theory in practice in a university setting. A minimum of two years' experience in Student Affairs Advising or Greek Life.
