ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT ASSOCIATE - JOURNEY

Job Description: Academic Library Services (ALS) is a branch of Academic Affairs and reports through the Provost/Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. ALS serves East Carolina University faculty, students, staff and visitors by offering library collections and services to support the research, instruction and service goals of the University. The Organizational Development section of Administrative Services administers human resources policies and procedures by providing employment services, classification and compensation, benefits administration, employee relations, payroll, policy/procedure research and interpretation, and staff development and training to the ALS employees. ALS employs an average of 200 people and employee categories include Faculty, Fixed Term Faculty, EHRA, SAAO, SHRA, temporary personnel, graduate and undergraduate students (self-help and work-study).

The person in this position manages all student payrolls, and adjustments to staff and faculty payrolls; manages faculty and staff leave records, manages the student hiring process, monitors student budget allocations, supervises student employees in the administration office, and assists the Library Personnel Administrator and the Administrative team with special projects, assistance with coordinating special events and routine organizational development tasks. This person will also act as the super admin for the Kronos system, and maintains the department org chart and phone listing.


Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

This position is subject to the Career Banding Salary Administration Plan. If candidates are not identified at the Journey level, management may consider candidates at a lower competency level. Pay will be commensurate with applicant's competencies as well as budget, equity, and market considerations.


Salary Grade Equivalent: 59 (for reduction-in-force priority purposes only)
