The successful candidate will teach online, distance, and face-to-face courses in instructional design, educational technology, and multimedia development in the Department of Administration and Instructional Services in the College of Education (www.ncat.edu/CEd) at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. The candidate will support the online Master of Science degree in Instructional Technology with three distinct concentrations: (1) Media Coordinator, (2) Instructional Technology Director, and (3) Business and Industry. The candidate must pursue a significant and timely research agenda that produces manuscript publications in top-tier journals in the discipline area, procurement of extramural grant funds that support innovative initiatives and programs, and presentations at well-respected international and national conferences or meetings. Other duties include, but are not limited to, online course development, working collaboratively with colleagues, advising students, supervising candidates in internships, holding office hours, rendering service to the department, College of Education, the University, the Community-at-large, and professional organizations. The candidate is expected to remain current in content, pedagogical practices, standards, and educational theory. This is a 9-month position.
The position requires an earned Doctorate in Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, or a closely related field at the time of anticipated appointment date. Must have demonstrated evidence of effectiveness using instructional design and technology in the classroom, must articulate a focused research agenda in Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, or a closely related field.
Emphasis will be placed on candidates who demonstrate effective teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses in educator preparation programs. Experience teaching in higher education or K-12 public schools, providing online and in-class instructional delivery with culturally and linguistically diverse students, and procuring extramural grant funds is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of full-time experience teaching students in K–12 schools or higher education.
