The College of Liberal Arts at the University of Mississippi invites applications for a full-time, 12-month administrative faculty position as Chair of the Department of Psychology.
This department is comprised of 18 tenured and tenure-track and 5 instructional faculty who are nationally competitive in their teaching and research endeavors and represent a diverse community of scholars. The undergraduate program provides excellent training as part of a liberal arts education and for students wishing to attend graduate school in psychology. Graduate students in the Ph.D. program choose an emphasis in clinical (APA-approved) or experimental psychology.
Acceptable candidates should have a track record and experience commensurate with appointment at the rank of professor within the College of Liberal Arts.
The successful candidate will have:
• an earned Ph.D. in Psychology;
• strong interpersonal, leadership and management skills;
• outstanding experience and accomplishments in teaching, research and administration;
• a history of external funding;
• a commitment to recruitment and mentorship of diverse faculty, staff and students;
• a commitment to graduate and undergraduate education and training and knowledge of broad curricular and academic issues in the field; and
• a commitment to collaborations within and across departments in the College of Liberal Arts and University.
