This position manages high-level communications for the Office of the Provost and the Office of the Vice President for Research. The position works closely with the Office of University Communications to align communication efforts with institutional goals, brand standards, and marketing plans and to ensure professional and consistent presentation of the University. This position also collaborates on responses to select media inquiries. 

The position directly reports to the Chief Communication Officer/Director of University Communications and indirectly reports to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Vice President for Research. The position works with all staff in University Communications as well as faculty and staff in the divisions of academic affairs and research. 

This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated proofreading ability; strong leadership ability and attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills; the ability to work independently and as a member of a team; the aptitude to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders; strong organizational, prioritization, and task management skills; and the ability to work effectively under deadlines.
