Responsibilities:
The Director of the DMI is responsible for all aspects of the DMI including mission, vision, programs, building, publicity, budget, and organization of the institute. Other duties include: academic advising, committee work, student mentoring, scholarly activity, fundraising, departmental grants, recruiting, appointment/non-appointment of faculty and staff positions. The teaching load is two courses per semester (1/2 teaching load) in entertainment industry studies, unless candidate chooses to teach additional courses. Courses may include survey, business, marketing, creative, and/or audio courses as related to the discipline. The Director will work with a DMI Advisory Board of academic and industry professionals to shape the focus of the DMI. All positions and areas of the DMI report to the Director. The Director reports to the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences.

Qualifications:
Post baccalaureate degree in entertainment industry studies, business, recording arts, music technology or related discipline required. Thorough understanding of methods and current developments in the field of entertainment industry studies; knowledge and demonstration of successful college-level instructional strategies and techniques; ability to advise, instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate faculty, staff, and students; professional-level knowledge of the music and entertainment industry; skilled in the use of computers and internet resources; ability to successfully interact with students, other educators and educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to work collaboratively in course design and to teach interdisciplinary and topical courses; ability to learn relevant sections of Delta State Universitys online integrated database systems for records management; ability to integrate technology into the teaching/learning and administrative processes.

Salary:
Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and universitys resources.

Post baccalaureate degree in entertainment industry studies, business, recording arts, music, music technology or related discipline required; professional-level knowledge of the music and entertainment industry.
