Responsibilities:
Provide policy direction by developing, reviewing, and monitoring all operations manuals to ensure compliance with FAA regulations.

Establish and ensure execution of the Department of Commercial Aviation mission and goals.

Network with industry partners, donors/grantors, and community members to increase internship opportunity for majors and service learning activities.

Direct and coordinate the academic, operational, personnel, student, and selected budgetary activities for the Department of Commercial Aviation.

Communicate the needs, opportunities, and risks regarding the Commercial Aviation academic unit with the dean and other senior administrators.

Teach courses, engages in scholarship/research/professional development, and service.

Seek external-funded, collaborative opportunities for Department of Commercial Aviation.

Other duties associated with managing an academic department.

Other duties as assigned by the dean.

Qualifications:
Doctorate in aviation or related field preferred.
Master of Commercial Aviation from regionally-accredited institution. CFI, CFII, MEI license. ATP Certificate preferred. Five years of relevant teaching, professional, or work experience.

Salary:
Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and universitys resources.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master of Commercial Aviation from regionally-accredited institution. CFI, CFII, MEI license. Five years of relevant teaching, professional, or work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate in aviation or related field preferred. ATP Certificate preferred.
