Responsibilities:
The Athletic Trainer will serve in the Department of Athletics, assist in the daily operations of the Sports Medicine Department, and oversee implementation of Bolivar County health and wellness grant program. The Athletic Trainer will serve as the primary athletic trainer for the team(s) to which he/she is assigned, will be responsible for all medical coverage for these teams, and will assist the athletic training staff in the daily operation of the training room. The Athletic Trainer will also oversee grant initiatives to promote health and wellness education both among active individuals at Delta State and in Bolivar County. The overall goal of the initiative is to increase health and wellness education and medical coverage of local high schools. The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for coordinating the grant, managing grant funds, and overseeing any athletic trainers and other assigned persons in facilitating the program.

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: Provide healthcare to student athletes, including evaluation, treatment, management and rehabilitation on athletic injuries and illnesses; Maintenance of accurate healthcare records; Develop and implement treatment and rehabilitation protocols, including referrals as needed with team physicians for student athletes' injuries and illnesses; Manage and track grant budget; Ensure invoices are received and entered promptly and accurately; Provide and maintain justification for all expenditures; Develop educational programs/ opportunities regarding the health and wellness of physically active individuals and distribute that via seminars, pamphlets, one-on-one instruction or other appropriate mediums; Maintain grant data including numbers on how many individuals are evaluated, treated, educated, etc, Maintain data on what educational materials and opportunities were distributed; Maintain data on budgetary expenditures.

Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an Accredited Athletic Training Education Program; NATABOC Certified or eligible; Mississippi State Licensure or eligible; Two years of related experience preferred

Salary:
Commensurate with experience, qualifications, and universitys resources.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an Accredited Athletic Training Education Program; NATABOC Certified or eligible; Mississippi State Licensure or eligible

Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of related experience preferred
