Carleton College’s Office of College Communications is seeking a full-time Senior Graphic Designer to join its creative team. The department develops communications strategies and produces multimedia marketing materials for student recruitment, special events, fund rising, alumni and institutional relations, and other campus clients. As an integral member of our team, the Senior Graphic Designer will work on projects from concept through delivery to ensure that they reflect Carleton’s established brand.

The Senior Graphic Designer must have the ability to lead design strategy and trend discussions along with provide solutions to meet our clients’ goals and objectives while keeping within budget. This position also requires project management skills to develop creative briefs for larger-scale projects, instruct clients on production schedules and deadlines, and have the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at one time.

This position will supervise one full-time graphic designer and hire and supervise up to three student designers per academic term.

The successful candidate possess a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, art, or a related field, plus five to ten years of professional experience in graphic design. Preferred qualities include experience in a college or university setting. Preference will be shown to candidates who possess illustration, photography, infographics, motion graphics, and social media experience.
