Summary of Position The Online Design Consultant will support non-tenure track, tenure track, and tenured faculty members in designing high-quality online courses that reflect the integration of design processes, relevant theory, principles of inclusion, and other best practices so as to promote student learning and success.

Required Qualifications

Required Education Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Learning Technologies, Training and Development or a related field.

Required Work Experience One year of experience in online education, online course development, or faculty development.

Required Licenses and Certifications

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered Master's degree in in Instructional Design, Learning Technologies, Training and Development or a related field.
College-level online teaching experience.
Experience working with college or university faculty to design online courses.
Experience working with or in a center for teaching and learning at a higher education institution.
Demonstrated evidence of faculty development skills.
Experience applying relevant theories or models, best practices, and appropriate tools to online courses.
Strong written and oral communication skills and a strong sense of audience.
Commitment to working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Duties Collaborate one-on-one or in small groups with faculty members from any discipline to support the design of quality, learner-centered, engaging online courses.

Duties Collaborate with staff in the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning and elsewhere to provide effective and consistent support to faculty, in line with currently-used practices in faculty development.

Duties Collaborate with Educational Counseling and Disabilities Services and other offices to ensure courses comply with federal and state regulations, including accessibility and copyright.
