Position Summary

The Theater and Dance Department at Bowdoin College invites applications for a one-year, full-time, visiting assistant professor position, specializing in actor training, to begin July 1, 2017. Teaching responsibilities include two courses per semester. The successful candidate will offer beginning and intermediate courses in acting, and introductory theater courses designed to interest and engage students who are new to performance. This visiting assistant professor will join a lively and collaborative department that values a wide range of styles and approaches to the study and practice of theater. Terminal degree (M.F.A. or Ph.D.) expected by time of appointment.

Bowdoin College accepts only electronic submissions. Please submit: a letter of application that describes a research agenda and approach to teaching acting in the liberal arts; curriculum vitae; writing sample; and the names and contact information for three references who have agreed to provide letters of recommendation upon request.
