Position Summary

The Cinema Studies Program at Bowdoin College invites applications for a one-year, full-time, visiting assistant professor position in the area of American film and television studies, to begin July 1, 2017. Area of expertise is open but preference will be given to contemporary American film, animation, avant-garde, documentary, film genres, and television. Teaching responsibilities include two courses per semester, with the possibility of at least one introductory course in film analysis. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education and an active engagement in research. Ph.D. preferred, advanced ABDs considered.
