Job Summary

Will assist in the day-to-day functions of the Children's Center on an on-call, as-needed basis. Will be required to cover staff absences in all programs of the Children's Center, functioning as a substitute caregiver. This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefit eligible position.

Education/Skills Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Child development coursework or an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred. Acceptable Educational Equivalents: A combination of education with extensive experience is acceptable. Excellent oral and written communication skills and a genuine commitment to the field of early childhood education are expected.

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

Current CPR /First Aid certification required. A minimum of one year experience working with young children preferred. Must sign Child Abuse Policy statement and complete Bowdoin College's OSHA BloodBorne Pathogen training, and have proof of Hepatitis B vaccination or submit a written declination statement.

Standard Work Days and Hours

Approximately 16 hours per week or on an on-call, as needed basis. We are currently looking for coverage from 7:30 - 12:00, 12:00 - 5:45, or full day. Availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays is preferred.
