Job Summary

Facilities Management at Bowdoin College takes pride in both the stewardship of the campus and the services that we provide to the Bowdoin community. Our Housekeeping team has an excellent opportunity for motivated Housekeepers. As a Housekeeper here at Bowdoin, you will help drive our sustainable cleaning efforts by consistently providing a healthy, clean, and safe environment for our students, faculty and staff.

This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and condition standards of the College's buildings and immediate grounds.

Education/Skills Requirements

Some High School education required; High School Diploma or GED preferred. Ability to read, write and understand the written word, and perform basic mathematical computations. Demonstrated excellent customer service skills. Ability to communicate and relate well with a variety of people both on and off campus. Ability to work successfully both independently and in a team with minimum supervision.

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

0 to 6 months of related experience in the cleaning industry is preferred, but not required. We will train the essential skills needed to be great team players when providing professional cleaning services for our customers!

Standard Work Days and Hours

This is a full time year round position offering competitive compensation and excellent benefits. Typical schedule is Monday - Friday 5:00am to 1:30pm. Special events and coverage needs may necessitate overtime hours, including weekends and holidays. On-call responsibilities are required. Work assignments are reviewed and revised as necessary.
