Job Summary

The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate and foundation funding sources. The Director coordinates institutional contacts with the above funding sources, including those that involve the President, the Dean for Academic Affairs, other Senior Officers of the College, and/or other appropriate members of the faculty and administrative staff. The Director reports to the Senior VP of Development and Alumni Relations and works with faculty and administrators to prepare institutional and consortial grant applications to foundations and corporations.

Education/Skills Requirements

Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree highly preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent editing skills; ability to condense complicated information and communicate it in general, lay terms. Strong project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects at once in a deadline-driven environment. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Ability to create budgets. Strong familiarity with computer systems and willingness and ability to use new systems and software.

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

A minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible work experience in an educational institution or similar setting. Experience with grant writing and soliciting funds from corporations and/or foundations preferred. The successful candidate will be subject to a criminal history background check.

Standard Work Days and Hours

This is an exempt position requiring the time commitment necessary to satisfactorily complete job requirements. Hours are primarily Monday through Friday; 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with occasional work after 5:00 pm or weekends. Some travel required.
