Job Summary

The Bowdoin Shuttle Driver is responsible for providing on-demand transportation services to Bowdoin students within the Brunswick area. The Driver will operate a 7 passenger van, provide superior customer service, maintain a clean vehicle, operate radio communication devices, and complete daily/weekly reports. This is a part-time, non-benefits eligible position.

Education/Skills Requirements

High school diploma or GED required. Demonstrated excellent customer service skills. Strong, diplomatic verbal communication skills. Good judgment and decision making ability. Dependable, punctual and courteous. A valid Driver's license and the ability to meet the requirements of the College's Motor Vehicle Use Policy. The successful candidates will be subject to a background check (criminal and MVR ) and pre-placement physical.

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

At least 1 year of experience driving multi-passenger vans (at least 7 passenger vans) in all weather conditions. Demonstrated experience working evening/night shift preferred.

Standard Work Days and Hours

The shuttle service operates Sunday thru Wednesday 6:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. and Thursday thru Saturday 6:00 p.m. - 3:00 a.m. At a minimum, casual drivers are required to drive one 8 hour shift per month, and are expected to be flexible to assist with schedule coverage as needed. The shuttle operates whenever the students are in session.
