Cashier -Bookstore (2 part-time positions)


Salisbury University, a member of the University System of Maryland, is a regionally accredited four-year comprehensive institution offering 58 distinct graduate and undergraduate programs. Located on the historic Eastern Shore, SU's beautiful campus is some 30 miles from the Atlantic beaches and 2.5 hours from Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Cashier in the University Bookstore (there are 2 part-time positions available).

Primary Job Duties: Perform a variety of retail sales store cashiering, clerical and customer service duties requiring knowledge of products, store operations, and policies.

Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma/GED and 1 year of cashiering experience. Experience with computerized point of sale systems and knowledge of Microsoft applications required. General knowledge of cashiering function. Skill in making accurate monetary transactions; in performing mathematical computations. Ability to prepare written records and reports; to operate keyboards and calculators; to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers; to operate manual and automated office equipment

These positions are part-time (19 hours per week), contractual positions. These positions require flexibility with availability between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm and weekends will be required as needed based on the needs of the University and Athletic events. Starting salary is $13.23 per hour.
