Assistant Professor of Graphic Design



The Art Department at Salisbury University is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Graphic Design. This is a ten-month full-time tenure-track position.

Primary Job Duties/Responsibilities: Teach three studio classes each semester in all levels of Graphic Design including Introduction, Typography and Package Design. Student advising. Continue professional activity and scholarly development in graphic design at a level appropriate to teaching and service work load. Service to the department, school and university. Manage the budget and supervise student workers. Able to work in a collegial manner with other graphic design faculty and also art department faculty, staff, student workers and faculty and staff outside of the Art Department.

Minimum Qualifications: Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Graphic Design or related field required. Teaching experience at the college or university level. Professional Graphic Design experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching up-to-date industry-standard graphic design software applications while relating design theory to historic and contemporary styles and techniques. Experience managing budgets and supervising student workers. Leadership experience a plus.
