The College of Education at the University of Maryland, College Park is seeking candidates for the position of Associate Director of Communications. The Associate Director of Communications is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing and communications programs that grow the stature, reach and effectiveness of the College of Education with its various audiences (internal and external). The position promotes the College of Education and its activities to the campus, media, alumni, policy makers, and education stakeholders, in order to advance the College’s reputation. The Associate Director of Communications helps position the College as a key contributor in the professional community nationally and beyond. The position works with the advancement team to plan, coordinate and execute the communication, marketing, and outreach activities of the College and serves as a marketing and communications expert to advise department, program, and center leaders on outreach activities. To be effective, the position must maintain proactive relationships with faculty and staff in the College of Education, the University Relations Marketing and Communications team, media outlets, vendors, etc.
The Associate Director is a member of the College of Education Advancement team and reports to the Director of Development and Alumni Relations with a dotted line to the Dean of the College of Education. This position will collaborate closely with the University Relations Marketing and Communications team.
