Occupational Therapist

The Position: We"re looking for a Occupational Therapist! Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director for MR Day Services, you will evaluate the therapeutic needs of each individual and assist in the development and the implementation of appropriate therapy/programming.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Evaluates and completes Occupational Therapy assessments on individuals as needed.
  • Develops and plans OT therapy based on assessment.
  • Trains staff to carryover OT treatment plans.
  • Reviews and signs off on DayHab Service Needs Assessments.
  • Participates in clinical team meetings.
  • Reviews referrals for placement to appropriate services within the component.
  • Makes recommendations to clinical team and or residence regarding OT needs.
  • Signs off on quarterly Clinical Team Review Form.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Education/Experience:
  • The primary occupational therapist must be a registered member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
  • Currently licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Allied Health Professions
  • Have one year of work experience in a training program for persons with either mental retardation or developmental disabilities.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
  • Knowledge and understanding of principles of normalization, behavior management and human rights.

  • Ability to climb stairs
  • You must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • You must be able to drive a vehicle.
