Enrollment Marketing Specialist - Communications and Marketing

Tufts University offers certificate and degree programs across seven graduate and professional schools and open enrollment options through University College. In addition to world-class existing programs, we are launching new programs to meet the needs of emerging industries and prepare students for career success.

We are looking for a marketing specialist to join a growing central enrollment marketing team to develop new strategies to reach prospective students, bring best-practice digital campaigns to market, and grow our audiences. Your work will have a big impact on our students and the University.

The Role

The enrollment marketing specialist is a key partner to school leadership - from Deans to Admissions Directors, communication teams to business development - to meet enrollment and revenue goals.

Success in this role requires extensive experience developing marketing strategies for higher education enrollment, hands-on tactical and project management skills, and the ability to interface with University administrators and faculty to understand the nuances of the programs you will market, communicate strategies and results, and hear feedback to continually improve marketing efforts.

In addition, you will have the interpersonal and management skills to develop strong working relationships with departments throughout Tufts, including technology, finance, communications, and student services.



Qualifications:

Essential Functions:
  • Develops a deep understanding of the programs in the portfolio, including audience targets, market share, and curriculum
  • Builds and sustains strong relationships with colleagues at each school in the portfolio, including deans, admissions directors, and communications directors
  • Recommend marketing strategies and tactical plans based on data and analytics; presents analytics to business partners on quarterly basis to help inform decision-making
  • Oversee day-to-day implementation of tactical plans, from paid search to OOH advertising to messaging development
  • Manages external vendors and freelance creative teams, while also being a hands-on producer
  • Collaborate with School Communications Directors and Admissions to develop annual marketing plans to support enrollment goals with clear metrics to track success
  • Leads the strategic brief process and works collaboratively with colleagues across multiple departments to develop and deliver projects that are part of the marketing plan
  • Remains current on trends and best practices in marketing, with a focus on higher education and enrollment
  • Presents progress-to-date to a wide-range of stakeholders, instilling confidence in recommendations and direction
  • Tracks project deadlines and budgets

Skills and Experience Required:
  • B.A./B.S. in marketing, communications, or related field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years in online marketing with a record of achieving established targets
  • Prior experience in enrollment marketing/higher education.
  • Proven track record as a relationship builder and thought leader
  • Demonstrated success in managing major strategic projects across print and digital channels
  • Engaging and confident presenter
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects concurrently, in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues across a complex, matrixed institution
  • Flexible thinking and nimble problem-solving
  • Strong writing and editorial skills
  • Experience with Hubspot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Google Ad-Words, Slate, Adobe Photoshop, and Tableau
