The Dining Service Attendant 2 provides service to Tufts Dining customers through mastery of a variety of general food service and hospitality related tasks. S/he welcomes customers in a warm and friendly manner and is knowledgeable about the ingredients and preparation methods of the foods served, especially with regard to the presence of potential allergens. This individual understands and communicates general operations of the unit and assists customers in promoting a pleasant dining experience. The Dining Service Attendant 2 demonstrates mastery of food preparation and prepares, assembles and/or serves various foods and beverages in a professional manner. S/he keeps his/her assigned food service stations and storage areas properly stocked and sets-up and maintains assigned food service stations throughout a service period. S/he assists elsewhere in the dining unit as customer demand requires. S/he breaks-down, cleans and sanitizes food service stations according to established procedures and conducts general cleaning tasks that are assigned as part of the daily unit housekeeping and sanitation schedules in accordance with accepted food service sanitation standards. In addition s/he works under minimal supervision and independently works the Greeter s Station by accurately accounting for meal plan transactions and minimal cash transactions.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- At least 1 year experience working in food service, retail or other customer service related business.
- Mastery of Dining Service Attendant 1 job duties.
- Successful high volume customer service and hospitality experience.
- Some previous small cash volume cashier experience.
- Knowledge of food safety.
42 weeks per year.
