Job Description:

The Coordinator of Financial Aid will be primarily tasked with managing the daily operations of the single person Financial Aid Office on the Canton campus and with assisting in the overall administration of federal, state and institutional aid. The incumbent will assist the Director of Financial Aid with the leadership, management and compliance requirements associated with the processing and delivery of over $20 million in annual financial aid funds.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Coordinating the awarding and administration of federal, state and institutional financial aid programs at a diverse college in accordance with established federal, state and institutional regulations
Providing customer service and counseling to students, parents, and the campus community in person, on the phone, and via email regarding all aspects of the financial aid process
Performing all aspects of the awarding process, including federal verification, conflict resolution, loan processing, appeal review, award recalculations, satisfactory academic progress calculations, and C-code and ISIR reject resolution
Performing Refund to Title IV (R2T4) and state refund calculations for official and unofficial withdrawals
Acting as a liaison between the Financial Aid Office on the Brockton campus and the Enrollment Center on the Canton campus
Managing one or more financial aid programs, including certification, award eligibility determination and reconciliation
Assisting the Associate Director/Systems Manager with Banner processes, including importing ISIRs, batch posting requirements, generating letters, loan processing, system testing and the annual system set-up and related procedural changes
Identifying areas of weakness and initiating corrective action, including developing new processes, policies and procedures
Coordinating the NSLDS transfer monitoring process
Representing the Financial Aid Office, and conducting presentations, at internal and external recruiting and informational events
Providing financial aid counseling to students at the Middleboro instructional site, both in person and via Skype
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:

Master's degree in Education, Business, Accounting, Human Services, Sociology, or closely related field; with two (2) years of experience and/or training involving financial aid operations, loan processing, and computer operations; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Must have thorough understanding of federal and state financial aid and cash management regulations
Must be able to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment under minimal supervision
Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and responsibilities in a fast paced, high-pressure environment, while maintaining composure and discretion
Ability to think critically and to analyze and interpret data to initiate improvements in workflow and process
Willingness to work occasional nights or weekends
Willingness to travel to the Brockton campus or other locations for meetings, office coverage, and events

Preferred:

Knowledge of Banner system or similar student information system
Demonstrated experience performing federal R2T4 calculations using Banner and FAA Access to CPS Online



Additional Information:
Full-time benefited Massachusetts Community College Council (MCCC) position
Hours: 37.5 hours a week
Salary: $59,939.00 - $65,000.00 Grade 6. Salary is commensurate and based on the MCCC Classification Study.
