Senior Legal and Compliance Analyst

Job Description:
SENIOR LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE ANALYST, MIT Investment Management Company ( MITIMCo )-Cambridge Real Estate Team, to oversee various key processes that are imperative to successfully supporting MITIMCo's Cambridge Real Estate team . Will understand and manage (on a first-point-of-contact basis) the legal and compliance issues faced by a real estate management and development office. Responsibilities include reviewing numerous contracts on a weekly basis (including environmental consultants, master planners, architects, and contractors), spotting key legal issues, and managing the contracting process; preparing many common real estate documents, e.g., lease amendments, access agreements, and nondisclosure agreements; devising and implementing strategies for identifying and processing large volumes of documents and information, especially electronically-stored documents and information; coordinating and managing paper and electronic document collection, review, and production by working with document custodians; assisting in the preparation of materials for real estate transactions and contracts; and other special projects as assigned.

MITIMCo's Cambridge Real Estate Team develops and maintains a high profile, complex, and dynamic real estate portfolio. No two days will be the same as the legal team navigates a myriad of legal issues confronting team members.

Job Requirements:
REQUIRED: at least five years' experience and expertise assisting busy lawyers with complex real estate and contracting legal matters, specifically in an in-house legal office or in a law firm; paralegal certification; ability to resolve ambiguous, complex, and multivariable problems; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to organize and manage multiple projects, prioritize competing needs, adjust to shifting priorities, meet tight deadlines, work under pressure, and respond to different constituencies with differing focuses; meticulous attention to detail; strong Microsoft Office skills; and keen judgment.
