SENIOR EDITOR, TECHNOLOGY ETHICS, POLICY AND SOCIAL ISSUES, MIT Technology Review (MITTR) , to cover what's current, relevant, and innovative in tech ethics, policy, and social issues by writing a mix of timely stories interpreting the news and longer features exploring key issues in depth. May work in other formats such as newsletters, podcasts, etc. Will also speak and moderate at MITTR conferences around the globe and represent it at other events.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED : experience on an ethics/policy beat or experience writing about those issues within another beat; exceptional skill writing about complex subjects in a clear, engaging, jargon-free way, making them accessible and meaningful to a wide audience of tech-savvy readers; and curiosity about new technologies, those creating them, and the impacts they have on society. The position is ideal for someone who cares about finding the best way to tell each story; is excited to experiment with varied digital storytelling formats and different ways of connecting to audiences; and sees her/himself as journalist, but also as a community builder and user-experience designer. Seek an experienced technology journalist with the knowledge and the contacts that go with it, an instinct for finding issues that truly matter, and a healthy skepticism of over-hyped "breakthroughs."
