Triage Urgent Care

 

MIT Medical seeks a per diem registered nurse who has experience with all age groups. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Triage patients in the urgent care setting, determining most appropriate level of care patient requires; Monitor Urgent Care patient waiting area to ensure patient flow through the system and be alerted to any significant changes in patients status
  • Perform independent physical assessment of patients and administer treatment within scope of practice; Assist physicians andNPs with procedures;
  • Administer oral, IV, and injectable medications
  • Insert IVs for hydration
  • Hand wound care, dressing changes, and B/P monitoring
  • Apply oxygen
  • Other nursing responsibilities as appropriate for an urgent care setting

 

Qualifications:

  • RN licensure in Massachusetts
  • BSN
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in an urgent care, emergency room, or similar ambulatory setting
  • Experience working with electronic medical record software
  • Computer experience and experience with MS Office
  • Demonstrated experience multitasking, working both independently and as part of a team, applying the principles of triage, accessing data, interpreting age-specific needs and providing nursing care in collaboration with others
  • Enjoy working with college-aged students

 

The position is per diem, with weekend and weekday availability.
