MANAGER OF STAFF DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION, Human Resources-Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) , to provide leadership for MIT's diversity, inclusion, and equity strategy. Will manage HR's D&I team and resources; develop and implement strategic initiatives that support inclusive organizations, informed and committed leadership, and effective workplace practices; and work closely with central HR partners to help apply best practices and work as a cohesive team to have maximum impact on creating a welcoming and inclusive workplace.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED : bachelor's degree; at least seven years' relevant experience; demonstrated success implementing diversity initiatives and understanding the implications of diversity, inclusion, and equity in the workplace; experience supervising staff; in-depth knowledge of principles, practices, and theories in diversity, inclusion, equity, and social justice; project management skills; ability to design solutions and serve as a resource for others; understanding of the contexts, cultures, and politics within institutions that impact the implementation and management of effective diversity change efforts; current and historical knowledge related to issues of nondiscrimination, access, and equity in higher education institutions; excellent interpersonal, listening, oral and written communication, consultation, presentation, meeting design, organizational, and facilitation skills; ability to work collaboratively, effectively communicate across differences, assess needs, and develop and present educational programs and/or workshops; knowledge of HR policies and practices; familiarity with and understanding of affirmative action plans; understanding of and experience with organizational behavior and intervention theory and practice, and adult learning theory; and ability to organize and complete multiple projects, measure results, and serve diverse clients at all levels. Advanced degree, experience working in higher education, and certification related to the diversity and inclusion field preferred. Job #16166-Q
