Human Resources Representative II



HUMAN RESOURCES REPRESENTATIVE II, Materials Science and Engineering (DMSE), to join DMSE's headquarters team and perform complex and routine tasks in support of human resources activities. Will prepare and process academic and nonacademic personnel transactions; coordinate visa issuance and renewals and act as liaison with the International Scholars and International Students 0ffices; coordinate logistics for onboarding new employees; assist managers in the hiring process; assist administrative officer with recruitment-related activities, preparing and submitting job requisitions and advertisements, utilizing applicant tracking system and other posting and resume sourcing sites, ensuring searches are compliant, and assisting with job description review process; maintain electronic and paper filing systems; update department staff listings; liaise with MIT Disability Services and Medical Leaves Office in handling disability and leave requests; coordinate and confirm that annual forms and/or trainings are completed as appropriate; serve as back-up for student payroll; follow up on and resolve payroll issues and serve as liaison with Payroll Office; monitor SRS vacation reporting; respond to general inquiries regarding personnel policies/procedures; and perform other duties as needed.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: minimum of three years' related experience, preferably in human resources; highly developed interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of people and work both independently and as a team member; excellent organizational and communication skills; attention to detail; and ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks concurrently, and work effectively to meet deadlines in a busy environment; proficiency with MS Word and Excel; self-motivation; initiative; and tact and discretion with highly confidential information/issues. Familiarity with MIT or similar institution a plus. Bachelor's degree and experience with MIT's systems (Cognos, BrioQuery) and SAP preferred. Job #15208-5
