HUMAN RESOURCES BUSINESS PARTNER/HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER, Human Resources , to consult with, advise, and collaborate with assigned client areas on a range of strategic and tactical human resources (HR) matters including employee relations, compliance, compensation, performance management, labor relations, organizational and talent development, staffing, and benefits. Responsibilities include serving as the primary HR contact for assigned schools and departments, partnering with stakeholders to proactively identify HR needs and implement immediate solutions and/or longer-term initiatives; collaborating with specialized teams and functions within HR to develop solutions on matters regarding compensation, labor relations, staffing, talent development, disabilities and leaves etc.; providing counsel on employee relations matters, receiving and investigating complaints and drafting findings; promoting and ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations and Institute policies and procedures; and assessing training needs and developing and delivering training to the community on relevant HR and policy matters. Will also participate in or lead teams and projects implementing new HR initiatives. May provide functional supervision of staff.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED : bachelor's degree; seven years' HR generalist experience; excellent communication skills including writing, listening, facilitation, coaching, and mediation skills; in-depth understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations and MIT policies and procedures; ability to resolve problems in an expeditious and independent manner; experience developing and delivering training; and the ability to work both independently, collaboratively, and as part of a team. The following competencies are also required: influencing others, communicating for results, interpersonal understanding, organizational awareness, information seeking, and problem solving. Experience working in technical organizations preferred, as is PHR or SPHR certification. Job #16137-Q
