Content and Program Developer, Events



CONTENT AND PROGRAM DEVELOPER, EVENTS, MIT Technology Review, to support the rapidly growing events business of MIT Technology Review, supplementing its lineup of world-class conferences and custom client programs. Will work closely with events, editorial, marketing, and sales to accelerate this growth; help develop and implement new event topics and themes; ensure that existing conferences and events have appropriate, relevant, and compelling content for the market; handle program development and speaker selection, develop and implement compelling custom event programs for clients, and conduct in-depth market research on conference topics and themes to ensure relevance and timeliness; assist in recruiting event advisory board(s); manage speakers for specific events including invitations, communications, content briefing and preparation, and run speaker and panel preparation call; write content abstracts and assist with marketing copy; and manage on-site conference organization.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a B.A./B.S.; a minimum of five years' event programming experience, preferably within the technology space; deep understanding of how technology is affecting businesses; experience programming emerging technology events; superior writing, editing, communication, and project management skills; ability to program events for a demanding, intelligent, tech-savvy, and literate audience; knowledge of the competitive event landscape; a desire to enhance events and bring new ideas; and the ability to interact with and manage the interests of multiple stakeholders, including leaders in business, government, and academia.
