COUNSEL, Office of the General Counsel (OGC) , to provide advice, guidance, and assistance on a wide range of legal issues for a complex research university. Will have a particular focus on transactions that implement, support, and finance the activities of MIT's departments, labs, and centers; and provide legal, tactical, and strategic advice to other MIT offices with contracting responsibility, especially those supporting MIT's research activities, such as the Office of Sponsored Programs.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a minimum of ten years' sophisticated law firm experience and/or in-house experience; the ability to organize and manage multiple projects and prioritize competing client needs in an often-changing, cutting-edge environment; grounded judgment combined with highly flexible thinking; polished communication and diplomacy skills; and the ability to perceive and explain to non-lawyers the practical application of law in complex situations. Admission to the Massachusetts' bar or admission to another state's bar and ability to promptly gain admission to the Massachusetts' bar is required. Job #16192-R
