COMMISSIONING EDITOR, MIT Technology Review (TR) (part-time, 50%), to be responsible for cultivating MIT TR's stable of freelance contributors, be they professional journalists or technology practitioners and researchers. Will primarily contribute to finding talented writers for TR's bimonthly themed print issues and commissioning and editing stories by them. Will also take part in conceptualizing the themes for each issue and the stories each one should contain. Will be expected to range far and wide in scouring for both established and undiscovered talent, with the aim of making TR a home for exceptional writing.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED : a bachelor's degree, at least seven years' editing experience, experience in technology journalism, and excellent structural and line-editing skills. Seek an experienced and discerning editor who is skilled at helping writers, especially inexperienced ones, with the conceptualization, planning, and writing of their pieces. Experience in digital journalism and the use of online publishing tools is preferred. Job 16256-Q
