Department Summary:
The mission of the BSU Communication Sciences and Disorders Program is provide a model training program for professionals in the field of speech-language pathology; and to be a model clinical facility recognized throughout Southeastern Massachusetts for both the advancement of student learning and for high quality, state-of-the-art speech-language pathology services, outreach, and resources to the community. To this end, we strive to foster an innovative student-centered educational environment, both academically and clinically, for intellectual and clinical growth based on ASHA Code of Ethics, information literacy, research-based discovery to inform our students fund of knowledge, encourage critical thinking, objectivity, creativity, and a commitment to social justice, diversity and global awareness, evidence-based life-long learning and consummate professionalism. We are committed to providing excellence in academic and clinical education to prepare students to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

Essential Duties:
The Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders seeks qualified applicants as part-time faculty at the instructor level to teach undergraduate courses both on campus and online in the following content areas: anatomy and physiology of the speech and hearing mechanism, child language acquisition, childhood language disorders; speech and hearing science; phonetics, articulation & phonology, clinical procedures, clinical techniques in speech pathology, and/or prevention of communication disorders.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: development of course materials, lectures, administration of examinations; and evaluation of student performance. Part-time instructors will work under the direction of the department Chairperson and will hold office hours to meet with students as appropriate.

- Ability to effectively teach in a close, collegial environment dedicated to the teaching-learning relationship.
- Strong commit to excellence in teaching and to working in a multicultural environment that fosters diversity.
- Ability to use technology effectively in teaching and learning.
- Provide quality teaching including related preparation and grading.
- Provide class syllabi to students enrolled in classes and to the department office as requested.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.

Required Qualifications:
Masters degree in speech-language pathology,
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence, MA license.

Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in speech-language pathology preferred.
Prior teaching experience at the College/University level preferred.
3-5 years clinical experience.
